In reading this, I began to think about the importance of this, and more importantly was this site truly offering the job seeker hope or false hope in the quantity of what was being presented to them. With so many job boards, and thus so many jobs…there must be something there for me. Is that right? Part Two: Writing The Query Letter - The Setup Okay, once you've hooked the agent to read your whole query letter, you've got to deliver. You can't just have a hook and then let everything else slide. Following the hook, you need to get to the problem. This requires a little bit of setup. You may have noticed in my hooks I include the age of the protag. Of course I specify my genre, but the agent knows right away which age group this would be. Little details like that contribute to the setup in your query.
